Dena and Shawn had a beautiful wedding at their church in Poway. Their friends and family all pitched in on everything from the cake to the décor, and it came together flawlessly.
Usually, it's the bride's hair, makeup, and dress that take extra time when preparing before the ceremony. In this case, the groom was the one everyone was waiting on. He was working on a rather difficult fancy knot for his tie while she was all ready to go.
The bride's friend and neighbor happened to be a retired florist, so it was obvious who to go to for extraordinary arrangements. She put together gorgeous bouquets of roses and succulents for the bride and her bridesmaids, simple boutonnieres for the groom and his best man, and floral decorations for the ceremony and reception.
The first look for these two was quite a beautiful moment. They were so excited and happy to see each other.
Dena and Shawn's church ceremony was sweet, simple and personal, with their children serving as their bridal party.
Can you believe their friend made this cake from scratch and drove it to the ceremony from hours away? It came out so beautifully--especially since her friend isn't even a professional! These guys are so lucky to have such talented friends.
After the reception, we went over to Old Poway Park for some formal portraits. I loved finishing up the day by stealing the couple away for a few private photos of just the two of them.
